Meet: Dr. Jerry Smith DVM

Meet our new Veterinarian, Dr. Jerry Smith DVM. Dr. Smith will give a brief biography & philosophy of his veterinary practice and then take your Q&A. This is NOT a clinic for pets.

Dr. Smith’s practice opened at 29 Shethar Street in Hammondsport in the second half of 2024, next door to the Park Pharmacy.  His practice takes appointments for visits and makes house calls.

Brief bio: Jerry Smith, DVM, graduated from Kansas State University, School of Veterinary Medicine, after an illustrious career as a nuclear trained electrician on submarines in the US Navy. Not content with hiding beneath the waves, he re-entered academia as an animal science major at the University of Connecticut, before venturing back to his home state of Kansas for vet school. Graduating in 2004, Dr. Smith has spent most of the last 21 years doing small animal emergency medicine around the Wyoming Valley, PA area. He is now ready to settle in as a general practitioner in Hammondsport & the greater Keuka Lake area.
