Books – hardcover, current and popular titles, fiction, non-fiction for adults, young adults & children.

Large Print – our collection of fiction and non-fiction books

Books on MP3 – more than 25 children’s titles are available as Playaways, accompanied by the book.

Books on CD – a collection of popular titles for both adults and children.

Special Collections – Local history, including aviation.

DVDs – Many movie titles are available, to include drama, action adventure, comedy, musicals, family, children’s, nature & travel, instructional & documentary, as well as American & British TV Series.

Reference Collection – World Book Encyclopedia, dictionaries, thesaurus, world atlas, Finger Lakes Trail Maps, medical references, Consumer Reports (for the last three years), NYS Statutes, electronic databases and much more.

Novelist – This database can help you find fiction based on reviews and other recommendations. Click on the ‘Links’ tab above and then scroll to ‘databases for research’ to access this reference.

Chilton’s Library – This is your online resource for auto repair instruction. Click on the ‘Links’ tab on the menu bar and then scroll to ‘databases for research’ to access this reference.

Periodicals – Back issues may be checked out. The library currently subscribes to 21 and more magazines. To access magazines online, go to our home page and click on RB Digital. More than 60 magazines are available online, with a valid library card.

Local Interest Books – These books are on display at the beginning of the non-fiction section, and may be used in the library or checked out with a valid library card.

Local History Room – Books, year books, early newspapers, and more, are available for research. These materials are for careful use only in the Local History Room.

LIBRARY SERVICES  
Free Wi-Fi – If you bring your own computer, you may enter our security code and have access to our wireless network within the library and on the patio behind the library.

Public Use Computer – We have 11 laptop computers for public use in the library with printing capability at $.25 per side, black & white or color. Persons age 17 and younger must have a permission form signed by parent to use the computers. Children 10 years and under must have an adult present while they are using the computer. The library has two desktop computers in the children’s room with educational software.

Fax Service – Prices for fax service: Long distance – $2.00 for the first page, $.50 for each additional page; Local – $1.00 for the first page, $.25 for each additional page. The library charges $.25 per page to receive a fax. The fax number at the library is 607-569-3340.

Copier – Copies can be made at $.25 per side, letter or legal size, black & white or color.

Interlibrary Loan Service – We will do our best to find the book you want, either from the Southern Tier Library System or outside the system!  This service is free of charge to all patrons.

StarCat, the electronic catalog for the entire Southern Tier Library System, can be accessed either at the library or from your own electronic devices. Requests for books and other library materials, such as audiobooks, music cds, and DVDs, can be made from home to be picked up at the library. We will call you when your book is available for pick up. Also, if your email address is on your library record, you will receive an email automatically when your item is ready for pickup

Tax Forms – Federal and NY State tax forms, as available, are here from January through April.

The Southern Tier Library System offers many titles for downloading. You will need a valid library card and PIN number, and an electronic device, which might be a laptop, tablet, smartphone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook, or other device, and an internet connection.

For more information on how this works, go to our home page and click on LIBBY for information on the reading APP. To get this APP on your phone or tablet, you can download it from the Apple APP Store, get it on GOOGLE PLAY, or get it on MICROSOFT.

Or, you can click on Overdrive “Download audiobooks & eBooks.”  Both links will take you to the same place. You can see what books, audiobooks, and magazines are available to borrow.  Make your choice and download it, or place a hold. You will be notified by email when your hold is available.
